About the OSL

The Osmosis Support Lab is a community-funded organization that was voted into existence by Proposal 57 of the Osmosis blockchain. As the size of the Osmosis community grew exponentially since genesis; the community began to discuss the need for a community support network that is informed, efficient, and accountable.
The Support Lab aims to meet this need by providing the funding necessary to maintain and support the community moderation team and by creating tools and resources directed at streamlining the support process and deterring scams and malicious behavior.

History of the Osmosis Support Lab

Since its inception as a result of Osmosis Proposal 57 the Osmosis Support Lab has supported Osmosis users, validators, and node operators by building a 24/7 support network and maintaining key infrastructure for the Osmosis community.

Q3 2021
Osmosis becomes an overnight success in bringing DeFi to the Cosmos ecosystem. The unexpectedly large influx of new Osmosis users becomes too great for the existing support team of 4 to handle.
Q4 2021
Osmosis Proposal 57, which established the first iteration of the Osmosis Support Lab, passed community governance with overwhelming support and equipped the Support Lab with the resources it needed to expand the existing support team.
Q1 2022
The Osmosis Support Lab grew with the support needs of the Osmosis community. Increasing membership to over 20, and creating instructional guides and FAQs about Osmosis, which continue to be maintained to this day. Support on Osmosis can now be found 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Q2 2022
Osmosis launches its dedicated support website at support.osmosis.zone, inclusive of a dedicated support chat widget staffed by members of the Osmosis Support Lab. Terra collapses and sends a surge of support traffic to Osmosis channels. The Support Lab helps mitigate the damage from the Osmosis exploit, and works with the Osmosis development contributors to recover some of the exploited funds.
Q3 2022
The Support Lab's budget is heavily impacted by the bear market. The size and salary of the support team is reduced to accommodate the new budgetary constraints.
Q4 2022
The second version of the support.osmosis.zone website launches. The role of the Support Lab is expanded further to include community engagement activity and maintenance of critical RPC and relayer infrastructure.
